Isn’t the bowl of a water tower supposed to be on top? Yes, and sometime within the next few weeks that’s going to be the case with Rockdale’s new northwest tower on Allday street. Landmark Structures is building the bowl at the bottom of the completed pedestal and will raise it to the top as one unit with a crane. The new tower will have a capacity of 500,000 gallons, twice the capacity of the adjacent tower it will replace. It will be 165 feet tall, 30 feet higher than the current tower, and will resemble recently completed structures in Taylor and Hutto.
