Info sought on vehicle causing cycle crash
The Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s help in finding a vehicle believed to have triggered a motorcycle crash near Thorndale Saturday afternoon that sent a Leander couple to the hospital.
Falls County State Trooper Joshua Cashion said the crash was reported at 1:27 p.m. on US 79 near County Road 440. Full Story

Drug, sex offender charges in week
An April 25 traffic stop by Ofc. James Treadway resulted in possession of a controlled substance charges being filed after a baggie of cocaine was discovered, according to Lt. J. D. Newlin.

Milano Volunteer Fire Department units were toned to a house fire on County Road 328 at 7:08 a.m. Monday morning. When arriving at the Roddy and Kim Gage home, firemen found the mobile home fully engulfed. Rockdale VFD was called for mutual aid and water support. All occupants of the home got out unhurt, but a pet was lost in the fire. The home was a total loss. Full Story
Scammers still trying and it’s no April Fool
Scammers continue to try and ply their trade throughout Milam County.
Three cal ls involving scams were investigated by the sheriff’s department during the past week.
Deputies were advised of a possible scam on FM 487, northwest of Rockdale, on Monday.

Minor damages in Monday fire
A Rockdale home sustained minor damages in a Monday evening fire.
The Rockdale VFD was sent to the Joe Wayne and Sarah Cleveland home, 969 North Wilcox, at 6:37 p.m. and extinguished a blaze at the rear of the home. Full Story

Annual MARC Run set for April 12th
The 13th annual MARC Run, brought to you by the Bad to the Bone Riders of Rockdale, will take place on April 12 at The Ranch, 415 W. US 79, in Rockdale, organizer Charles Starr said.
This annual ride benefits the MARC (Milam Adult Resource Center) of Milam County, which serves all Milam County adult residents with physical and learning disabilities. Full Story

The 15th annual Dewberry Jam 5K (and 1K kids) Run will be held in the dark Saturday, April 12, at the Rockdale Country Club.

Gause Junior High track teams were in Iola on March 24 for their district track meet. They also had a good turnout of parents, family and friends there to cheer them on.
