CHAMBER CHAT

Ready, set, go... Easter egg hunt set Good Friday
Janice King
Chamber of Commerce Board Chair

Easter is just around the corner and the Chamber is joining with iTigers, Project Graduation and Rockdale Resident and Rehabilitation Center to put on a city wide Easter Egg Hunt. Good Friday, April 18 is the date with a 10 a.m. start time.

Rockdale Resident and Rehabilitation Center (formerly known as Manor Oaks) is the place. There will be hot dogs, chips and drinks provided by the Center. Lots of eggs for the kids to hunt. Face tattoos and balloon art will be there for the kids as well. So bring your children and their baskets for a morning of fun.

BOARD MEETING— The Chamber Board of Directors met on April 1 with a full agenda. We started off with a discussion around the joint proposal between the Chamber and Municipal Development District (MDD) for the administration of the HOT funds.

The Chamber board vote was one abstaining and the remainder of the board in favor of the proposal. The MDD was scheduled to vote on the proposal on Monday, April 7. Once it has passed both entities, it will be presented to the City Council for their consideration.

SUMMER FUN—It’s not too early to think about the summer. The Chamber voted to put on festivities for July 4. We are working on the details and will have more information as the plans roll out.

AN APP FOR THAT— The phone app is on the way. We are in the process of getting it set up and hope to be rolling it out within the next month. The app will list all of our businesses. It will have a calendar of events as well. There will be the opportunity for businesses to enhance their listing on the app. We will be sending out more details in the near future.

Come join us as we work together to serve our businesses and our community. The Chamber is dedicated to our motto of ‘Partnering for a better Tomorrow’. janicemking@sbcglobal.net
