Hatcher

Services for Ida L. Hatcher, 81, of Forest Grove will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Forest Grove Christian Church with Pastor Lance Walch officiating.

Visitation is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Hatcher died Monday, April 7, at Cameron Nursing Home in Cameron.

She was born July 31, 1932, in Kountze to Reda Estell Gates.

She mar r ied Joe Hardy Hatcher on March 28, 1954, in Grayburg.

Mrs. Hatcher was a homemaker and dietar y cook at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

She was a former member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Sour Lake and member of Forest Grove Christian Church and Rockdale Home Demonstration Club.

Mrs. Hatcher had been a Forest Grove resident since 1981.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hatcher, on Jan. 18, 2008; a son, Kenneth Smart; and a brother, Joe Thomas Gandy.

Survivors are a son, Joel Keith Hatcher and wife Rose of League City; two daughters, Cheri Teague and husband Jay of Black Jack, Pam Edwards and husband Terry of Slidell, Louisiana; 10 grandchildren, Andy Edwards, Deanna and Cable Hott, Amber and Kelly Wagnon, Holly and Wade Giesenschlag, Ashley and Mitchell Charanza, Kimberly and Jacob Bruno, Kelsey and Kevin Muzny, Coleton, Kody and Bailey Teague; seven great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Pierce Wagnon, Imogen, Declan and Briley Hott, Aileen and Lorelei Giesenschlag; a brother, J.H. Gandy and wife Frances of Kountze; and a sister, Margaret Rogers and husband Harvey of Kountze.

Pallbearers will be Andy Edwards, Coleton Teague, Kody Teague, Cable Hott, Kelly Wagnon, Jacob Bruno, Wade Giesenschlag and Mitchell Charanza.

Honorary pallbearer is Kevin Muzny.
