Leschber

THORNDALE— Services for Evelyn R. Leschber, 87, of Thorndale were held Friday, April 4, 2014, in St. John Lutheran Church in Thorndale . Burial followed in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in the Detmold community near Thorndale. Rev. Mel Swoyer of St. John Lutheran Church officiated.

Mrs. Leschber died Monday, March 31, in Seton Medical Center in Round Rock.

She was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Thrall to Albert Paul and Adele (Zieschang) Patschke.

Mrs. Leschber lived all of her life in the Thorndale and Thrall area.

On April 20, 1947, she married

Edwin C. Leschber in Thrall Lutheran Church. They spent 55 married years farming and ranching side by side.

Mrs. Leschber was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Thorndale.

She enjoyed listening to polka music, sewing, needlework and cooking for her family.

Mrs. Leschber was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C. Leschber, on Dec. 31, 2002; her parents; and a sister, Malinda Beckermann.

Survivors are two daughters, Doris Ruth Car ter and husband Rick of Jarrell, Nancy Marie Hollowell and husband Mike of Thrall; a brother, Allen G. Patschke and wife Viola of Pearland; five grandchildren, Jason Carter and wife Katie of Jarrell, Renee Danek and husband Jerry of Gouldbusk, Lindsey Pouncey and husband Eric of Georgetown, Lauren Hollowell and Mathew Miller of Midland, Megan Hollowell and fiancée Corey Strmiska of Taylor; and five great-grandchildren, Macy Hollowell, Kayla Pouncey, Callie Danek, Blake Carter and Memphis Sanders.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and nephews, Jason Carter, Jerry Danek, Eric Pouncey, Corey Strmiska, Raymond Beckermann and Kenneth Beckermann.
