‘Glowing’ Dewberry Run raises $7,100
15-year total now $91,000 for sorority
A couple of hundred runners and walkers were “on the glow” Saturday at the Rockdale Country Club as Beta Sigma Phi’s 15th annual Dewberry Jam Fund Run shifted gears in a big way.
For the first time ever, the run was held at night, over golf cart paths at RCC, lit by glow sticks and, occasionally, by reflective clothing. Full Story

City tax rebates still rising
County check down more than one-third from last year’s total
AUSTIN—Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said that state sales tax revenue in March was up $2.09 billion, up 5.6 percent compared to March 2013.
Combs sent out $554.5 million in April local sales tax allocations last week to cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts.
That is up 6.2 percent compared to the same time last year. Full Story

Milano’s OAP public performance set April 23 on high school stage
Milano High School’s One- Act Play “A Girl Called Opal” will hold a public performance at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at the MHS cafetorium. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children. The group competed at area over the weekend but was not picked to advance. Full Story
