Mudder’s Day

Apache Pass was the site of a Tough Mudder competition that drew 14,000 participants from all over the United States on Saturday and Sunday. The 10-to-12-mile event isn’t billed as a fun run—it has obstacles designed to challenge the fittest participants—but obviously it was a great deal of fun for most participants, especially those who don’t mind a little mud. All right, a lot of mud. The event isn’t timed, there are no results and the main goal is finishing. (See page 1B.)
