Thanks to VFDs and more for fire assistance

Dear editor,

You know the old song, it only takes a spark to get a fire going?

Well, the rest of the story is to sincerely thank everyone so very much for helping us in our time of need.

Thank you, first of all to the volunteer fire departments from Thorndale, Rockdale, Cameron and Buckholts and to Officer Ortiz from the Milam County Sheriff’s department for making sure we got all the trucks needed to battle the blaze.

We’re still not sure how the fire departments were able to keep the wheat field next to us from going up in flames.

You guys doing your thing and a little praying works wonders.

We also know that God has blessed us with great neighbors, the kind that bring their equipment and manpower because they know you need their help.

Thank you Jason, Lanny, Raymond, Bradley Worley and Buddy and Justin Johnson.

To our two terrific daughters and the two best sons-in-law in the whole wide world, Jami and Kirk Becker and Abbey and James Davis for all you do every day, but especially this weekend:

Love you guys.

To my sister, Lanette Frock for asking, “what can I do?” and getting thrown in a house full of kids.

Love you too.

It’s funny now to look back and see how well you handle pressure when your adrenaline is working overtime and admitting, sometimes you don’t do too well, it is good to know that somebody, in this case, a lot of people had our back when we really needed it.

Sincere thanks to everyone.
