Twelve sentenced in district court action
CAMERON—Twelve persons were sentenced in 20th District Court action last week, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey.
He listed case dispositions as follows:
• Alonzo Arispe Jr., 32, Rockdale, pleaded guilty to sexual assault (enhanced), 30-year prison term. Full Story

‘Shots fired’ call results in arrest on Saturday
A “shots fired” call sent police to a Hogan Street address Saturday night, resulting in one arrest.
Police said Cody Ray Box, 34, of Rockdale, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
“Witnesses said a man had held a pistol to someone’s head and had also discharged the gun into the ground,” Lt. J. D. Newlin said. Full Story
No injuries, and minor damages, were reported in a two-vehicle crash investigated by police at 3:17 p.m Monday across US 79 from City Hall. Police said drivers were Julius Frankeny of Lexington in a 2014 Honda CRV and Oscar Gomez of Rockdale in a 2007 Chevrolet pickup. Full Story
Five more scam attempts listed
Attempted scams keep popping up in many areas of Milam County as deputies investigated five more during the past week.
Three were reported Thursday, on FM 1600 north of Rockdale, a phone scam on CR 326 near Rockdale and County Road 206 near Cameron.
On Friday a scam attempt was reported on County Road 311 in the Rockdale area. Full Story
