State, regional shows list deadlines

Entries for the 2014 State Fair of Texas are due in the Extension Office by Aug. 15.

Entry Forms are available online at http://bigtex.com/livestock/ shows/ or in the Extension office.

All entries must be entered by the Extension Office online.

Livestock being exhibited in Market Classes must have been validated through the State Validation Program to be eligible to show.

Prospect Show Steers do not have to be validated to be eligible to show. HOT SHOW—Entries for the 2014 Heart O’ Texas are due in the Extension Office by Aug. 25.

Check the Heart O’ Texas website at http://www.hotfair.com/events/2014/ livestock-show after Aug. 15 for entry information.

All registration information will need to be submitted to the Extension Office by Aug. 25.

MORE SHOWS— If you are going to show lambs, goats, or breeding sheep in the 2015 winter and spring major livestock shows, you must order tags from the Milam County Extension Office by Aug. 22.

These are the only validation tags that will be accepted by these shows.

The 2014 State Fair tags will not be accepted at the winter and spring 2015 shows.

Lamb and goat tags will cost $12 per head and the breeding sheep tags will cost $6 per head.

All checks are payable to Extension Leadership Advisory Board (ELAB). Your tag order must be submitted with the payment.

The validation committee will set a tag-in date during October.

Watch for information on the date and time for tag-in.

To participate in a major show, you must order the tags by Aug. 22, take your animal to tag-in during October and submit your entry forms for the major shows by early November.

All three steps must be completed.
