Loewe, Jonse on the move

Dusty Loewe and Ronnie Jonse have tendered their resignations from the RISD.

Loewe— who is retired and had been a part-time coach—is moving to Groesbeck to become the Goats’ tennis coach.

Loewe, 61, retired in 2012 after 34 years as a basketball coach, including seven years in Rockdale, and last year was an assistant basketball coach and tennis coach.

In his time here, Loewe led Tiger athletes to state in golf and tennis, including this past season.

Loewe has also had stops at Blooming Grove, Palestine Westwood, Rice Consolidated, Gonzales, Caldwell and Taylor.

Jonse is joining former Tiger offensive coordinator Hunter Hamrick at Class 4A Ingleside and will be the head baseball coach there along with football duties.


Jonse Jonse Hamrick took the head football job in Ingleside in March after four years in Rockdale.

Jonse came to Rockdale in 2013 after five years in his hometown of Elgin and has been the Tigers head baseball coach and was 37-40 with two playoff appearances.
