School, church planning annual Thanksgiving meals

Reporter correspondent

Friday is the end of the second six weeks for Gause ISD.

On Thursday, Nov. 16, there will be basketball vs. St. Mary’s in Temple at 5 p.m. Then on Nov. 17, there will be an early release at 12:30 p.m.

Delores and Johnny Fisher, Vette and Richard Burton and Jayden Nelson went to Rosebud Saturday to the 100-Plus Garage Sale. They met with Vera Proctor, Luberta Green and Macilyn Green and spent the day looking and “shopping down.”

THANKSGIVING MEAL—Gause ISD will have its Thanksgiving meal on Friday, Nov. 17, at the time of your child’s lunch. Cost is $5 per person and needs to be paid by Nov. 9. There is a form for this in the office at the school that must be completed.

Also, some of you have several children in the Gause school, but because of space they need you to eat with only one child. Perhaps mom can eat with one and dad or a grandparent can eat with another. The letter that was sent home with students has your child’s lunchtime for that Friday.

FOOD DRIVE—Gause 4-H Club is sponsoring a food drive beginning this week and will end Nov. 16. You may send non-perishable food items to the Gause School with your child. If you don’t have students in the school but would like to donate, I can get them to the school for you if you will let me know and I can come by and pick it up or you can drop it off at my home. All donations are greatly appreciated and much needed.

Church worship service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Gause Baptist Church.

The annual community Thanksgiving dinner will be at 11 a.m. at the church Family Life Center. Everyone is invited.
