Suspect now faces 4 burglary charges

A 30-year-old Rockdale man arrested last week is now facing four burglary charges.

Police said additional charges have now been filed against Jason Frank Ignasiak in connection with break-ins at several businesses along West Cameron Avenue (US 79).

But Sgt. Stephen Goodrich said Ignasiak is not being charged with three downtown break-ins Oct. 3, which they originally believed to have been linked to the other cases.

Goodrich said Ignasiak is charged with burglaries at Steve’s Texaco, China Buffet, CVS Pharmacy and more than once at Saigon Express.

He was not charged with the October burglaries at Fabric Care Cleaners, Texas Farm Bureau and H&R Block at 233, 237 and 239 North Ackerman.

Ignasiak remains in the county jail. Bond was denied on a parole violation charge.

HOME BURGLARY— Police said an attempted home break-in Nov. 29 was foiled by the house’s residents.

“I don’t believe the suspects thought anyone was home,” Sgt. Goodrich said.

Police located two suspects that afternoon and charged them in connection with the incident.

Carlos Daniel Dominguez Rodriguez, 18, and 20-yearold Alexis Piedra were both charged with burglary of a habitation and Dominguez Rodriguez was also charged with theft of property ($100 to $750), and assault causes bodily injury. Piedra was also charged with failure to ID and assault causes bodily injury.

Goodrich said the assault charges stemmed from an incident at the Rockdale holding facility after it was alleged a meal served in the facility was consumed by another inmate.

Both remain in custody with bond set at $29,500 on Dominguez Rodriguez and $30,000 on Piedra.

ARREST—Samantha Lynn Smith, 25, of Milano was arrested Nov. 29 and charged with theft of property (less than $2,500) with two or more previous convictions in connection with incidents at Tractor Supply.

She remains in the Milam County Jail in lieu of $12,000 bond.
