Christmas parade, meal Saturday

Saturday is the City of Milano’s annual Christmas parade and community meal.

The parade line-up will take place at 9:30 a.m., with judging at 10 a.m. and the parade starting at 10:30 a.m. This year’s theme is “Small Town Christmas.”

Plaques will be award in the following divisions: best overall, floats, bicycles/ walking/small animals, small motorized/battery operated, vehicles/tractors and horses/wagons.

After the parade, the city will host its annual community Christmas meal at the civic center.

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS— Judging for the city’s annual Christmas decorations contest will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16. Plaques will be awarded to the winners at the Dec. 18 city council meeting. All city residents have to do to enter is have their Christmas decorations/lights turned on and the judges will be driving around town to make their selections.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM— The annual Christmas program for Milano Elementary School is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Milano High School gym. Milano Junior High’s One-Act Play contest is that same day in the school’s cafetorium.

4-H NEWS—The Milano 4-H Club is selling raffle tickets as part of the Milam County 4-H Givea Way. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Prizes are two separate $500 Visa gift cards, one $100 Visa gift card, Igloo lighted party bar cooker filled with party goods ($500 value), metal bear sign art, metal “Welcome” deer sign, Bealls gift card and Galleria Day Spa gift card. The next Milano 4-H Club meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Milano High School cafeteria.
