The 46th annual Rockdale Fair and Rodeo will get underway Oct. 9 through 16, and the first events are the children’s pageant and Miss Rockdale Fair Pageant which will be held in the RHS auditorium.
There will be a rodeo nightly starting at 8 p.m. which will include bareback riding, saddle bronc, bull riding, tie down, breakaway, steer dogging and team roping.
Wednesday night, Oct. 13, is Family Night at the Carnival, as well as the kickoff party. There will be no admission that evening.
Musical acts will be featured Thursday through Saturday. Thursday features A.J. Castillo at 9 p.m. Friday’s featured acts are Carson Jeffrey at 8:30 p.m. followed by headliner Mike Ryan at 10:30 p.m. On Saturday Giovanni and the Hired Guns will start at 9 p.m. and headliner Kolby Cooper starts at 11 p.m.
Other attractions are Youth Livestock Show, the carnival, a barbecue cookoff, baked goods competition, car show, food vendors, a petting zoo and an arts and crafts show.
Major sponsors this year are Whinstone US, Alpha One Chevrolet Buick, Rockdale General Store, R&B Accessories, Milam County Livestock Auction and Milam County Judge Steve Young.
