The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Christmas Lighting contest was held on Sunday night and the winners were announced this week.
On the residential side of the contest Best Overall Lights went to Mark and Karen Muston at 217 Bowser. Tim and Glenda Guthrie went all out at 703 Vogel as they do every year and took the Best Yard award.
Oralia Zamora won Best Traditional Lights for her display at 1608 Murray Ave. The Most Animated award went to Johnathan Young at 1608 Vogel for his Grinchthemed decorations.
Brenda Jeter’s lights won her the Best Lights category while Ward and Kathryne Roddam won the Best Front Door award. Honorable mention went to Ashley and William Carl at 1908 Hillcrest.
In the commercial con-test, Texas Electrical Services, shown above, won Best Overall in the contest for their amazing show. East Bell Taphouse won the Best Storefront award and Tisket- A-Tasket took the Best Traditional Lighting award. Masters Martial Art won the Best Lighting award. Commercial honorable mention went to Rockdale Estates & Rehabilitation and the entire downtown Rockdale area. (See more photos on page 8A.)
