Last week, our office held our annual Tree of Angels event here in Milam County. This is an event we hold every year in memory and support of people and families who have suffered from violent crime. It is also held to honor our service members, officers, first responders and others who have fallen in the line of duty. The Tree of Angels was well attended this year, and we are very grateful to those who donated to and attended the event.
The holidays can be a hard time of the year for many people, but especially those who have lost loved ones. That is one of the big reasons we hold the Tree of Angels event in December each year. For this time of year, I would encourage everyone to reach out to those around you who may be hurting this holiday season. Give a kind word, say a prayer and just give support in any way you can. You never know how meaningful a simple act like that can be to someone, and you never know who may need it.
