Rockdale’s construction permits went “through the roof” in the first seven months of virus-plagued 2020 and it’s a good thing.
There wouldn’t have been a whole lot to them otherwise.
Permits, issued at City Hall and reflecting on activity inside the city limits (no Whinestone, that’s in the county) totaled $770,441.
That’s not quite half the $1,697,342 logged in the first seven months of 2019.
Fifty of the 94 permits issued through July 31 were for roof repairs, 53 percent of all activity.
Largest project on the list was a $175,000 street paving project at Los Robles Mobile Home Park (formerly Sherwood Forest) in May.
There was one home start through the year’s first seven months.
