Rockdale Junior High is hosting the Academic UIL Competition for Middle Schools in the East Zone.

Rockdale Junior High is one of four schools in the East Zone which includes Cameron, Lexington and Caldwell.

In 2018-19, Rockdale finished in fourth place. In 2019-20, Rockdale took third place, almost topping Lexington for second.
