CAMERON—Milam Appraisal District (AD) directors voted 2-1 las t week to oppose giving up the district’s downtown Cameron building as part of a proposed swap to locate many entities in the now vacant Cameron hospital.
County Judge Steve Young said he is hopeful a deal can be worked out and that the AD’s opposition won’t kill the idea.
The appraisal district owns the building located at 120 North Houston.
