Vision Historic Preservation Foundation will present a unique fundraising event called the Lone Star Jazz Party at The 1895 (old city hall) on Burleson Street in historic downtown Rockdale on Saturday, Dec. 11.
“This event will feature three jazz bands from Austin, Waco and San Antonio and will be highlighted by guided tours of our vision for The 1895 City Hall restoration and redevelopment project,” according to Curah Beard, campaign manager for the Vision Historic Preservation Foundation.
Featured jazz bands are the Sparky Thomason Quintet, Tommy Howard Trio and Dave Wild Trio featuring Tyrha Lindsey.
A full day of events is scheduled starting at 9 a.m. with vendors, food trucks, food and beverages including local artisans and Central Texas Wineries. Tours of The 1895 and live music are from noon to 6 p.m.
General admission is $1 per person, reserved seats under the jazz tent are $25 and VIP tables for 8 are $300 per table. Purchase tickets online at www.visionhistoricpreservationfoundation.org/events.
