Citizens National Bank, a Central Texas community financial institution, announced three leadership promotions at its January board meeting, including one involving the president of the Rockdale branch.
Jim Morse was appointed as the portfolio risk manager. In his added role, he will be involved in loan portfolios, concentration risk management, analysis and credit reviews. Morse has been the Rockdale branch president for nearly two years and will retain his role as branch president.
In the other moves, Steven M. Wise was appointed as the chief executive officer. He is also president of the banking system. Wise has been with Citizens National Bank since 2009.
Evan Morrison was appointed as chief lending officer. Morrison is a fifth generation member of the Smith family who founded the bank in 1900. He has been with CNB since 2020 and will focus on growth initiatives while preserving asset quality.
Morse, began his banking career in Brownfield, a small town near Lubbock. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in finance and continued his education at the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado where he graduated with honors. His professional experience includes serving in senior management as chief credit officer at a community bank in West Texas.
According to Wise, “Jim’s experience as a previous CCO will be instrumental in administering how we monitor credit risks.”
