While the filing deadline is two weeks away, a few incumbents and some new faces have filed their paperwork to run in several local elections.
For Rockdale City Council, Braden Wallis is running for city council west ward for the position that was held for the past three years by Belinda Hillhouse who is not running for re-election.
In school board races, Amy Ogea Casas is running for Place 3, Charles Miles for Place 4 and Lindsey Lillard and Braden Byrd will vie for Place 5.
Milano ISD school board has three board members up for re-election: Carl Blake, Greg Spears and Lynnette Taylor. Ben King has also filed to run.
Thorndale ISD has thee people up for re-election, but as of press time no one has signed up.
County Judge Steve Young is running for re-election against Bill Whitmire.
The precinct 2 and 4 incumbents are not running and so far James Denman, Dude Ferris and Douglas Baker have filed for Pct. 2, and Wesley Payne and Johnny Andrews will vie for Pct. 4 commissioner.
