POLICE REPORT
Rockdale police made an arrest Saturday after receiving what they termed a “scam report.”
Police Chief Thomas Harris said police received a report of elderly persons being charged work that was not performed.
Arrested was 48-year-old Lonnie Burt Donaldson of Caldwell.
He was charged with theft of property (less than $2,500) with two or more previous convictions, out-of-county bond surrender, possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram). He remains in custody on $15,000 bond.
ARRESTS—Other felony arrests:
• Gary Eugene Hobbs, 37, Rockdale, motion to proceed-tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, in custody on $5,000 bond.
• Chanti Brinell Cyphers, 23, Bastrop, possession of marijuana (less than two ounces), tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, in custody on $15,000 bond.
ACCIDENT—Police responded to a two-vehicle collision without any reported injuries at 2:47 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of East Belton.
Drivers were listed as Deena Eanes of Rockdale and Jenna Robertson of Helotes.
Damages were termed moderate to the Robinson pickup and police said there was no damage to the Eanes vehicle.
INCIDENTS—Harris said an officer was not injured in an incident which began with a public intoxication call.
Harris said the suspect was taken to Little River-Rockdale Hospital at which incidents occurred that resulted in charges of assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest also being filed.
Police also investigated an assault, an animal bite and an animal-at-large complaint.
CITATIONS—Police issued 25 speeding tickets during the past week along with three citations for expired registration and gave one citation for open container/passenger.
SERVICE CALLS— Officers responded to 199 calls for service during the week and received 108 calls through the 911 system.
