POLICE REPORT
A Taylor man was arrested on a charge of robbery the day after Christmas after an incident in which police said a subject twice tried to drive off with a vehicle even though there were children in the car.
Isak Julian Yovany Castro. 22, remains in custody on $20,000 bond.
Rockdale Police Lt. Stephen Goodrich termed the incident “basically a misunderstanding” and said it included several verbal arguments.
ACCIDENTS—No serious injuries were reported in any of the five traffic accidents reported for the period.
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in West Cameron Avenue (US 79) in front of Rockdale Federal Credit Union at 1:28 p.m. Dec. 23.
Drivers were listed as David Pence Jr., 32, of Sulphur Springs and 48-year-old Kenneth Deary of Henderson.
A hit-and-run incident was investigated at 10:48 a.m. Christmas Eve in the Murphy’s Oil facility in the Walmart parking lot.
Police said a car driven by Sonya Negrete, 49, of Pflugerville was struck by a vehicle which left the scene.
Police said at 2:57 p.m. Christmas Eve, two vehicles collided at the intersection of east Cameron Ave. (US
79) and San Jacinto Street.
Drivers were listed as Ernest Worley and Jasmine Jones both 21-year-old Rockdale residents.
Police said minor damages were reported in a 3:35 p.m. Friday collision in the Dairy Queen parking lot. Drivers were listed as Colby Smith, 18, and Ranelle Smith, 67, of Rockdale.
Police responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a fence at 2:29 p.m. Monday at the Murray-Wilcox intersection. Driver was listed as John Ryker Zinn, 18, of Rockdale.
SERVICE CALLS—Officers responded to 232 calls for service during the 11-day reporting period.
There were 143 calls received through the 911 emergency system at the police station.
