POLICE REPORT
Two juveniles—one male and one female—were charged with indecency with a child during the past week involving separate incidents.
Lt. Stephen Goodrich said both involved allegations of “inappropriate touching.”
Goodrich said a 13-year-old male turned himself in at the police station to face three charges of indecency with a child sexual contact after police talked to three students at the junior-high.
Goodrich said the female, now 18 years old, was charged with indecency with a child in connection with an incident which is alleged to have occurred when she was 16.
‘CHASE,’ ARREST—A woman was treated for injuries and a driver of one of two vehicles involved in a major accident Saturday afternoon was arrested.
Police said vehicles operated by James Turman Jr. and Mason Crump were in collision at 1:36 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of West Cameron.
Goodrich said a passenger in the Crump vehicle was treated for facial lacerations.
He said Turman initially left the scene but was tracked down by bystanders who included an off-duty Waco police officer, and persuaded to return.
Turman, 47, of Rockdale, was charged with accident involving injury and driving while license invalid and remains in custody on $6,000 bond.
ACCIDENTS—A 63-year-old Harker Heights woman was transported to Baylor Scott & White in Temple for treatment of injuries sustained in an 11:45 a.m. Thursday one-vehicle accident in the 500 block of North Wilcox.
Police termed vehicle damage “major.”
No injuries were reported in a two vehicle collision at 1:58 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of West Cameron (US 79).
Drivers were listed as Ashley Scarbrough of Austin and Yolanda Rodriguez of Rockdale.
Damage estimates were not available.
DEATH—A missing person report called in from a local motel concluded with a death from natural causes, according to Goodrich.
“The man involved had a diabetic condition,” he said.
Goodrich said police do not suspect any foul play, did not order an autopsy and consider the matter closed.
