POLICE REPORT

Rockdale police said a police officer was assaulted during booking of a man who had previously been tased and restrained last Wednesday.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said police had been called to a fight at the Budget Inn in which a suspect was involved in a scuffle with four other persons.

“We had to tase him and then put him in a restraining chair once we got him back to the police department,” Goodrich said.

“His hands were bound and we had to free one of them during the booking. That’s when the officer was hit.”

Arturo Orestes Boussart, 54, of Rockdale, was charged with burglary of habitation, resisting search or transport and assault on a peace officer/judge. He remains in custody on $71,000 bond.

Goodrich said the officer was not seriously injured.

• Layne Russell Rash, 17, Rockdale, assault family/ household member-impede breath/circulation, released on $20,000 bond.

Other felony arrests included:

• Ricardo Muñoz, 33, Rockdale, failure to ID fugitive/intent giving falsifying info, out-of-county DWI, aggravated assault with deadly weapon, in custody on $35,500 bond.

• Patrick Vega, 40, Rock-dale, bond forfeiture-unlawful possession of firearm by felon, in custody, no bond.

• Clement David Sr., 52, Rockdale, motion to revoke-possession of a controlled substance, in custody, no bond.

ACCIDENT—One traffic accident was reported within the Rockdale city limits.

That occurred at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at McDonald’s.

Drivers were listed as Geizel Evelyn Wright of Thorn-dale and Javier Jose Weingart of Austin.

No other details were available from police.

SERVICE CALLS—Officers made 133 calls for service during the seven-day reporting period and there were 95 calls received through the 911 system.
