A barbecue fundraiser for 10-year-old Darian “Hump” Jackson who has been in the hospital with encephalitis since August, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27 at the VFW Post 6525, at 978 US 79, starting at noon. Pre-orders will only be taken through Feb. 20 by calling Kim Von Gonten Jeter at 512-760-7194.
Plates will include chicken, sausage, two sides, trimmings and dessert for $12. Sausage wraps will be available for $3. Plate pickup is between 12-noon and 2 p.m.
A silent auction will run from 12-noon to 5 p.m. There will be 50/50 fundraiser tickets available for $1 each or 6 for $5.
Cornhole sign up is at 12-noon and starts at 1 p.m. and washer sign up is at 3 p.m. and starts at 4 p.m. Entry fee for each team is $20.
