Members of Rockdale’s Thursday Reading Club dedicated a bench on Monday morning at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library to Dr. Lucile Estell, a long-time member of the club, as well as being an advocate of education, community and historic preservation. In 2020, former mayor John King made a proclamation declaring March 6, 2020, Dr. Lucile Estell Day and the proclamation was read at the ceremony. Club members are, seated, Geri Burnett and president Gloria Walker. Standing are (L-R) Peggy Cooke, Barbara Nelson, Patricia McKee, Annette Stone, Lynn Young, Wendie Upson and Ann King.
