A packed house showed up for the annual Christmas at the Kay event on Sunday afternoon sponsored by the Communities in Concert Band and the Matinee Musical Club with special guests, the choir from Rising Star Baptist Church.
Some individual performances included “A Christmas Medley” by RHS freshman Tyler Roberts on bass clarinet, who also arranged it, and Destinee Bluford RHS junior on clarinet. Melissa Shipley beautifully performed “Ave Maria” and “My Dear Acquaintance” was performed by Tami Rice.
The Matinee Musical Club performed a cappella “Ding Dong Merrily On High,” a new addition this year.
Members of the Rising Star choir sang “Hallelujah Salvation,” “Glory, Behold the Lamb,” and “Jesus Oh What a Wonderful Child.”
The afternoon ended with a sing-along of traditional Christmas favorites.
