Welcome to the new year and the new decade. I pray that 2020 holds great things for everyone.
There is an American Red Cross blood drive set for Wednesday at Milano High School. Donations will be accepted from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can call the school starting Monday to schedule an appointment, 512-455-9333.
There is also an online availability to schedule a donation at RedCrossBlood.org and enter “milano” to schedule an appointment. You can also call 1-800-733-2767.
MVFD FUNDRAISER—The Milano Volunteer Fire Department has begun its yearly fundraiser. Tickets for the annual drawing are now on sale and are $5 each or five for $20.
Prizes include: two Henry Golden Boy 22 LR, two Taurus Public Defender .45/410, Remington 700, Marlin 336W 30-30, Remington 870 Shotgun, Ruger American Bolt Action 22 LR, Taurus 738 TCP 380 and $100 Academy gift card.

All prizes received in Academy gift cards. Winner will be drawn on Feb. 15 at the department’s annual chili supper. You need not be present to win.
