Former Rockdale resident Charlie Kouba will be at the city library at 6 p.m. Thursday for a presentation and book signing.
Kouba’s book “Still Crazy: The Adventure of a Lifetime” details his participation in the Texas Water Safari, from San Marcos to Seadrift, known as “The World’s Toughest Canoe Race.”
Kouba recruited several family members to assist him in the endeavor, culminating in a tw0-year adventure which resulted in the book.
Kouba, a Victoria native, worked for Alcoa and Fluor Daniel. He and wife, Anne, moved to Victoria in 2012 to be near the rivers and coastal.
Proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association’s Camp Rainbow near Alvin, a summer camp for those living with Type 1 Diabetes.
