The Milano Parents Club’s “bottle décor party” has been moved to May 19 at the Rockdale Country Club. Time is 6 to 8 p.m. and cost is $30 per person, you must reserve your spot. The group will also hold its monthly meeting on May 14 at 5 p.m. They will be electing officers for the next school year.
AWARD—Milano resident Les Davenport was awarded the 2018 Congressional Veterans Commendation from U.S. Rep. Bill Flores last week at a ceremony in Bryan. He was one of the area’s 10 recipients.
MILANO FCA—Milano High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes members Kathen Funburg and Jeremyah Tafao were honored at the Aggieland FCA Roundup Reception on Sunday.
GOLF TOURNEY—The annual Milano ISD scholarship golf tournament has been rescheduled for May 18 due to wet weather last weekend. The event will still take place at the Rockdale Country Club.
Cost is $75 per player and is a four-person scramble event. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Prizes will be handed out for first through third place teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one. Limited to first 18 teams, breakfast and light lunch provided. Hole sponsorships are available for $120.
