Citing near-record temperatures (see separate story) and dry conditions, Milam County Commissioners on Monday imposed an outdoor burning ban.
The Milam County Fire Chiefs Association recommended the action.
The ban encompasses rural, unincorporated areas of the county.
All Milam municipalities already have their own burning ban ordinances in place and they are permanent.
