October will be a busy month at the city library with programs scheduled for three of the month’s four Thursdays.

And the annual “lock-in,” held in connection with the Genealogy Center of the Waco-McLennan County Library is set for a Friday.

CHEMICALS—It all gets underway at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, with a presentation “The Scary Truth About Chemicals in Your Home.”

Presenter Curah Beard will demonstrate mixing “do it yourself” products.

EL CAMINO REAL— Dr. Steven Gonzales will present a program on the El Camino Real de los Tejas at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.

He is executive director of El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail Association.

Milam County has numerous historical sights along the trail, including Apache Pass, a traditional crossing of the San Gabriel River.

LOCK-IN—The Lock-in—it’s not really a lock-in, it’s normal business hours is set for Friday, Oct 19.

There will be presentations from 10 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

PARANORMAL—Paranormal researcher Greg Lawson, a Rockdale native, will be on hand for a book signing on Thursday, Oct.

It gets underway at 6 p.m. and is Lawson’s second program at the library.
