Yes, the Fourth of July fireworks scheduled for downtown Cameron are still on.
But they will be “drivein,” those coming to the area to view fireworks are asked to stay in their vehicles and there are a number of guidelines.
The Cameron Chamber of Commerce lists them as follows:
• Stay in your vehicles.
• Leave a parking space on each side of your vehicle to maintain social distancing.
• Since persons are urged to stay in their vehicles, mask wearing is not mandatory but is encouraged.
• Keep your family group together and stay in your own space once parked.
• If possible, Cameron residents are asked to find a location in your own neighborhood, or elsewhere in the city, to view the fireworks.
Fireworks will be launched at dusk, between 8:45 and 9 p.m., from the Oak Hill Cemetery Parking lot in downtown Cameron.
The annual Milam County fireworks displays alternate between Rockdale and Cameron and are staged through the cities’ Chambers of Commerce.
