—Gerald Anderson, great-nephew of rodeo immortal Bill Pickett, visits with Mattie Pearl McBride, Juneteenth parade grand marshal, as they prepare to unveil a storyboard marker in downtown Rockdale Saturday. For the time being, the storyboard will remain in the Rockdale MDD parking lot at 134 North Main. Just around the corner, on the wall facing Citizens National Bank‘s downtown branch, Pickett is also commemorated as part of a mural painted by former resident Kim Finley.
