The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center has elected three new directors.
They are:
• Cassidy Paschall, representing The Rockdale Reporter.
• Bud Houston, representing Bud’s Electric.
• Suzie Turner, representing Oak Leaf Bakery & Diner.
Serving her second year as Chamber chair is Rebecca Vasquez of Lone Star Guns & Goods.
Paschall is chair-elect.
Brad Cartwright of Citizens National Bank is treasurer and secretary is Julia Cardona of Workforce Solutions of Central Texas-Rockdale office.
Denise Brock remains executive director.
There was no annual luncheon general membership meeting at the start of 2019, so new directors have already taken office.
They will be recognized at the annual Chamber Banquet, set for 6 p.m. March 28 at the KC Hall.
Theme is “Lights, Camera, Action.”
Brock said the Chamber continues to accept nominations for 2019 awards, to be presented at the banquet, as follows:
• Citizen of the year—Significant contributions in 2018.
• Outstanding citizen—Contributions throughout the years.
• Organization of the year—Nominee must be a non-profit community organization for contributions in 2018.
• Business of the year—Nominee must have made a significant contribution to the Rockdale community. Award can be for the business owner or its employees/business as a whole.
DIRECTORS—Three directors are rotating off the board.
They are John Dean, Trevor Cashmere and Ann King, representing the MARC Center.
Holdover directors in addition to chair Vasquez, Cartwright and Cardona are Russell Fischer, Joe Mahan, Monique Gebhart and Terry Sandoval,.
There are also currently two board of director vacancies which will be filled at a later date by the Chamber.
