CASA of Milam County and the Milam County Child Protective Services board will hold a pancake breakfast on Friday, April 11 at 8 a.m. to kick off National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
At 9 a.m. Milam County Judge Bill Whitmire will sign a proclamation on the courthouse lawn.
“ Child Abuse Prevention Month has been celebrated nationally since 1983. For more than 40 years, organizations across the country have recognized the month, providing important information regarding the prevention of child abuse and neglect. In 2008, the blue pinwheel became the national symbol for the month,” said CASA of Milam County Executive Director Rachel Owens.
