CAMERON—A 46-year-old Rockdale man was indicted Thursday by a Milam County Grand Jury on two counts of promotion of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.
David Wayne Carter was one of 32 persons indicted on 40 counts, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey.
PROBE—Sgt. J. D. Newlin of the Child Exploitation Unit of the Texas Attorney General’s Office (AGCEU), a former Rockdale policeman, said the investigation began in July when an online sharing service notified investigators an account had uploaded suspected images of child pornography.
After an IP address and a subpoena were obtained, the suspect’s residence was searched and a number of electronic devices seized.
Newlin said images and videos found led to the charges.
Carter was arrested Dec. 21 and bond was set at $80,000.
BOOSTER CLUB—Trisha Annette Jones, 41, of Milano was indicted for theft ($2,500 to $30,000) in connection with thefts from the Milano Athletic Booster Club.
An arrest affidavit filed by Deputy Sheriff Ryan Blankemeier, noted booster club officers told him a Booster Club debit card, which was not supposed to be used for personal transactions was used to make “fraudulent purchases” in November and December, 2018.
