A 10-year-old Rockdale boy is expected to fully recover after a car-bicycle accident in Rockdale Saturday afternoon.

Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Joshua Avila remained in McLane Children’s/Scott & White, Temple, “for observation” on Tuesday.

He said the youth sustained a concussion and broken arm and was flown to the children’s hospital by medical helicopter.

The Rockdale VFD and an AMR ambulance crew also responded to the accident scene.

Police said the 10-year-old was involved in a collision with a car operated by Lucy Llanas of Rock-dale at 4:28 p.m. in the 900 block of East Belton.

WRECKS—Police were also called to two other accidents during the past week.

A two-vehicle collision was reported at 4:36 p.m. Jan. 8 in the 110 block of West Cameron (US 79).

Drivers were listed as Deborah Tovar of Rockdale and Donald Arndt of Austin.

No damage report was available.

Police said “unknown injuries” were reported in a two-vehicle collision in the 100 block of West Cameron (US 79) at 6 a.m. Saturday.

Drivers were listed as Scott Vaca and Miguel Chaldez, both of Rockdale.

Damages were termed “extensive.”

ARREST—Police said 39-year-old Christi Elaine Criner of Lexington was charged with credit/debit card abuse of elderly in connection with an incident at Cefco.

WARRANT—Goodrich said a warrant has been issued for the arrest of a subject in connection with the theft of laptop computers from a display case at Walmart.

CITATIONS—Police issued 14 citations during the past week including nine for speeding and two for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

SERVICE CALLS— Police responded to 176 calls for service during the past week and 72 calls were received through the 911 system at the Rockdale PD.
