Church choirs, musicians and more will be on hand at 2 p.m. Sunday for the annual Christmas at the Kay celebration at Rock-dale’s historic Kay Theatre.
Admission is free but theatre spokesperson Bob Burnett said it is requested those attending bring a canned good or other item for the Rockdale Christian Services Food Pantry and a free-will donation to benefit the Kay Theatre Foundation.
As those in attendance will see Sunday, restoration work on the 1940s-era venue continues with a $26,000 project to repair facade cracks and add an elastic stucco paint.
“We’ve been having a problem with cracks in the stucco behind the facade that have caused leaks,” Burnett said.
Those on the program Sunday include:
• Communities in Concert Band.
• Rising Star Baptist Church Choir.
• First Presbyterian Church Choir; Annette Griesbach, soloist.
• The Willmans, ukulele duo.
• Christmas brass ensemble.
Others may be added by Sunday.
Intermission refreshments will be by the Matinee Musical Club.
