An in-house alarm alerted residents of the Hunter’s Chase Senior Apartments on East Belton just before 9 a.m. Monday. The alarm brought two Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department pumpers to the scene. Residents said the alarm was triggered by fire in an oven which generated smoke into hallway. Firefighters were on the scene less than a hour, using fans to pump smoke from the building. Rockdale police also responded.
