Christmas season is under way with two annual events scheduled in Milano.
The City of Milano has announced plans for its annual Christmas parade. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Dec.
15. Line-up will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the Milano football field parking lot, with judging at 10 a.m. and the parade starting at 10:30 a.m. If you are not ready to go at 9:55 a.m. then you won’t be eligible for judging.
This year’s theme is “Old Time Country Christmas.” Plaques will be award to first place winners and ribbons to second and third places in the following divisions: floats, bicycles/walking/small animals, small motorized/battery operated (golf carts, lawn mowers, four wheelers), vehicles/tractors and horses/wagons.
Special plaques and prizes will be awarded for best overall entry and to the first place float.
After the parade, the city will host its annual free community Christmas meal at the civic center.
Judging for the city’s annual Christmas decorations contest will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. Plaques will be awarded to the winners at the community Christmas meal following the parade on Dec. 15. All city residents have to do to enter is have their Christmas decorations/lights turned on and the judges will be driving around town to make their selections.
CHRISTMAS ROUNDUP—Milano ISD is collecting certain items for the area’s Christmas Round-Up. Each campus is accepting donations of unwrapped toys, soup of any kind, instant potatoes and canned chicken. Deadline to turn in items to MISD campus is Dec.
6.
PROJECT GRADUATION— The Milano Project Graduation group is selling personalized Santa letters through Dec. 3.
