Plans for Rockdale Christmas Roundup are now underway. Applications can be picked up at The Rockdale Reporter, Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library, Citizens National Bank, Classic Bank, Rockdale Federal Credit Union, Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, Rockdale City Hall and local churches.
The deadline to nominate families or individuals who are in need of assistance this Christmas will be Friday, Dec. 2.
More than 300 families were served by this program last year. Christmas Roundup is making every effort to work with other agencies in the community to serve as many homes as possible.
Monetary donations can be deposited in the Christmas Roundup account at Citizens National Bank or sent to PO Box 766, Rockdale, TX 76567. Toy donations can be taken to the Rockdale ISD Administration office or Rockdale Signs & Photography at any time.
The Knights of Columbus Hall on US 79 will be open on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 4-7 p.m. to accept toy donations. On Monday, Dec. 12, the KC Hall will open at 9 a.m. for volunteers to help fill boxes for pickup.
Boxes w ill n ot b e d elivered to homes this year. All families will need to make arrangements to pick up their boxes at the KC Hall in Rockdale. Pick up dates are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 12 from 4-7 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers are needed all days, but especially on Tuesday to help with pickup.
