RSBC set to host play

Saturday at church

At 7 p.m. Saturday, Rising Star Baptist Church’s Fine Arts Ministry will present a faith-based play written and directed by Stanley Miller.Co-director is Joyce Ford.

Title is “The Life of Emma Pearl/The Burial of Old Jack Devil.” Donation is $5 per person.

New grief ministries

set at Meadowbrook

Meadowbrook Baptist Church is sponsoring new ministries for the community entitled “GriefShare.”

Three new grief groups are being added in the next few months as follows:

• Saturday—Surviving the Holiday, a 2-½ hour seminar.

• Jan. 7, 2019—Loss of a Spouse, a 2-½ hour seminar.

• Jan. 14-April 8, 2019—GriefShare, a 13-week video program. taught by 46 of the top leaders in grief and recovery.

First Baptist center for ‘Samaritan’s Purse’

First Baptist Church in Rockdale is the relay center for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox drive.

A shoebox is filled with small gifts for a child by donors and boxes are then sent to children around the world.

Final day of collection will be Monday, Nov. 19, 8 to 10:30 a.m.

Thorndale church plans benefit for Saturday

THORNDALE—Mount Zion Baptist Church of Thorndale, Rev L.E. Caldwell Sr., pastor, is having a benefit banquet Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Thorndale Chamber of Commerce Hall, 120 South Main.

Cowboy Church plans

fall festival for Sunday

Milam County Cowboy Church will hold its annual Fall Festival Sunday.

Church youth will host a fund raiser lunch from 11 a.m. to 12-noon.

Treats, games and more fun is on tap from 12-noon to 2 p.m.

Rockdale Christian sets revival starting Monday

Rockdale Christian Church will hold a gospel meeting (revival) Nov. 5-9.

Service time is 7 p.m. each evening.

Bro. Artie Carnes of Kiamichi Mountain Christian Missions will preach each evening and there will also be a time of praise and worship.

Billy Bob Cox will be song leader for the services with Elaine Simpson playing the piano.

Rockdale Christian Church is located on the corner of Sager and Rockdale Road in northwestern Rockdale.

First Presbyterian sets car show for Nov. 10th

First Presbyterian Church has scheduled its second annual Classic Car Show and Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 10.

Awards will be announced at 1 p.m. There will be “goodie bags” for pre-registered cars and there is a $20 entry fee per vehicle registration: www.fpcrockdale.com.

• Sunday: Dedicate new pavilion after All Saints Day worship service.

• Nov. 13: Women of the Church meet at the home of Annette Griesbach; coffee at 9:30 a.m., meeting begins at 10.

First Shiloh Baptist sets fall festival Wednesday

First Shiloh Baptist Church will host a fall festival the evening of Oct. 31.

Time is 6 to 8 p.m. with games, booths, candy, prizes, cake walk and cookies.

The church is located at 100 County road 481 outside of Thrall and the public is invited to attend.
