Peace Lutheran holds Lenten soup suppers
Peace Lutheran will hold Wednesday Soup Suppers at 303 Meadow Lane throughout the Lenten season on April 3 and 10. A service conducted by Pastor Gary Veit will follow. Call 512-446-2834 for information.
The church also continues its Lent used clothing drive for Rockdale Christian Service.
Soup’s on at St. Thomas Episcopal Church
The first Wednesday of each month St. Thomas Episcopal Church hosts an evening prayer at 5:30 p.m. and soup supper at 6:30 p.m. at 302 E. Davilla Ave.
Lenten activities set at First Presbyterian
The Lenten schedule at First Presbyterian Church has been announced as follows:
• April 13—Palm Sunday, followed by lunch to celebrate Pastor David Wilman’s seventh year at the church
• April 16–Women of the church meet at Patricia McKee home, 9:30 a.m.
• April 18–Maundy Thursday service, 6 p.m.
• April 19–Good Friday worship, 5 p.m.
• April 21–Sunrise service at Memorial Prayer Garden, 7 a.m., followed by coffee, fruit and pastries; Easter worship service at 10:30, followed by Easter Egg hunt in and around prayer garden.
Outdoor Memorial Prayer Garden available any time; services at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday.
Rising Star Baptist welcomes guest pastor
Pastor N.T. Cannon, Jr. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Austin and his congregation will be the guests at Rising Star Baptist Church, Saturday, April 13.
Pastor Cannon will preach about love, commitment and sacrifice, as part of the all ministries annual theme of Next Level Ministry at 1055 Texas St.
Easter festivities in Thrall on April 13
THRALL – First Shiloh Baptist Church’s spring event Let’s Go Fly a Kitte and Hunt Easter Eggs is scheduled for Saturday, April 13.
The event will be on the church grounds from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at 100 County Road 481 in Thrall. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch, lawn chairs, blankets, kites and Easter baskets for egg collecting. The church will provide cookies and lemonade for attendees.
Registration for men’s summit underway
Registration for the Men’s Conference on May 3-4 hosted by Meadowbrook Baptist Church will be taken until April 24 for $65.
Late registration after April 24 will be $75.

Pleasant Retreat UMC hosts two-day yard sale
THORNDALE—Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church will host a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 5 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6 in the Thorndale Chamber of Commerce building.
On April 6 the church will also hold a bake sale at Thorn-dale Meat Market.
