Holy Week Revival starts April 15

Allen AME Church will host a revival during Holy Week 6:30 p.m., April 15-18.

The church will host the Paul Quinn District Worship Service titled “The Last Seven Words” 6 p.m., Friday, April 19. Local pastors will preach throughout the week at 216 E. Third St., Rock-dale.

Community-wide prayer service set

Pastor Royal Johnson is leading a community pray circle at 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 19 at Tiger Field.

The prayer initiative that involves Rockdale and Milam County churches, residents and leaders is a goodwill initiative that will propel the area to social and economic prosperity, according to Johnson.

Episcopal church holds Lenten soup suppers

The first Wednesday of each month St. Thomas Episcopal Church hosts an evening prayer at 5:30 p.m. and soup supper at 6:30 p.m. at 302 E. Davilla Ave.

Presbyterian church hosts Lenten activities

First Presbyterian Church will have a luncheon on Palm Sunday to celebrate Pastor David Wilman’s seventh year at the church, 1600 Alcoa Ave., Rockdale.

The rest of the Lenten schedule is as follows:

• April 16–Women of the church meet at Patricia McKee home, 9:30 a.m.

• April 18–Maundy Thursday service, 6 p.m.

• April 19–Good Friday worship, 5 p.m.

• April 21–Sunrise service at Memorial Prayer Garden, 7 a.m., followed by coffee, fruit and pastries; Easter worship service at 10:30, followed by Easter Egg hunt in and around prayer garden.

Next level ministry will be topic of speech

Pastor N.T. Cannon, Jr. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Austin will preach about love, commitment and sacrifice 3 p.m., Sunday, April 14.

He and his congregation will be the guests at Rising Star Baptist Church, 1055 Texas St., Rockdale.

Easter festivities in Thrall on April 13

THRALL – First Shiloh Baptist Church’s spring event Let’s Go Fly a Kite and Hunt Easter Eggs is scheduled for Saturday, April 13.

The event will be on the church grounds from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at 100 County Road 481 in Thrall. Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch, lawn chairs, blankets, kites and Easter baskets for egg collecting. The church will provide cookies and lemonade for attendees.

Men’s summit deal ends on April 24

Registration for the Men’s Conference on May 3-4 hosted by Meadowbrook Baptist Church will be taken until April 24 for $65, after that date the price will be $75.

Christian pastor Jerrad Lopes will discuss Biblical Manhood in a program entitled Dad Tired. The conference material is from the best-selling Dad Tired devotional “Stop Behaving.”

Easter egg hunt slated for Saturday, April 20

THORNDALE—St. Paul Lutheran Church will host a community Easter Eggstravaganza that is open to all children through the fifth grade.
