Graduation service for grads on Sunday
Baccalaureate services will be held on Sunday, April 28, at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Rockdale for the Class of 2019.
Baccalaureate is an old Latin word for a sermon and worship service designed specifically for graduates.
Vivian Ross will be the mistress of ceremonies for the baccalaureate service for the Rockdale High School Class of 2019 at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at Springfield Baptist Church, Third Street in Rockdale.
Angela White will bring the evening message to the Class of 2019 as the featured speaker. She will be introduced by Lynda Ford.
Elizabeth McQuitter will lead the processional and Deacon Henry Miller will lead the prayer.
Kesan Raven will welcome everyone and Jaleez Dunn will thank everyone. The closing prayer and remarks will be given by Pastor S.L. Ross, Sr. and RHS Principal Tiffany Whitsel.
Students being congratulated are: Balkiran Grill, K’Tacia Mayberry, Caitlin Deneene Henderson, Felix Gragiola Barnes Jr., Shazae Terry Chargois, Kaylee Morgan Criswell, Jaylen Demond Davis, Kelan Kwijuan Evans, Quentin Thomas Hughes, Cayden Michael McBride, Braden Nyles Moore, Ja’Hemi Dwayne Rubin and Amelia Salomon.
After the ceremony refreshments will be served.
Presbyterian church May schedule set
First Presbyterian Chuch will honor Rockdale area graduates with a Cinco de Mayo luncheon on Sunday, May 5.
The church will also celebrate National Music Week at the service. The church anounced its May events:
• Sundays - Worship service, 10:30 a.m.
• April 30–Bible Study, 9:30 a.m., with Pastor David Wilman (every Tuesday).
• May 1 – Choir practice, 7 p.m. (every Wednesday).
• May 21 – Final Women of the Church meeting hosted by Pat Owen.

Baptist church will host men’s summit
Meadowbrook Baptist Church’s mens program registration is open until April 24.
The May 3-4 Men’s Conference registration fee is $65. It will be $75 after April 24.
Christian pastor Jerrad Lopes will discuss Biblical Manhood in a program entitled Dad Tired. The conference material is from the best-selling Dad Tired devotional “Stop Behaving.”
