RSBC to host speaker

on Veterans Day Sunday

Rising Star Baptist Church will host a special guest speaker during the 11 a.m. service on Veterans Day, Sunday.

Speaker will be Willy Culberson (U.S. Army, retired) of Smithville.

FOOD FOR KIDS—Rising Star holds a “Food for Kids” meal at 5 p.m. each fourth Wednesday. Anyone wishing to donate to this effort can call Rev. Royal

First Baptist center for ‘Samaritan’s Purse’

First Baptist Church in Rockdale is the relay center for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox drive.

A shoebox is filled with small gifts for a child by donors and boxes are then sent to children around the world.

Collection week will be Nov. 12– 19. Hours of Operation will be Monday, Tuesdays and Thursday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m.; Friday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m.; Sunday, 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.

Final day of collection will be Monday, Nov. 19, 8 to 10:30 a.m.

Rockdale Christian’s

revival ending Friday

Rockdale Christian Church is holding a gospel meeting (revival) Nov. 5-9.

Service time is 7 p.m. each evening.

Bro. Artie Carnes of Kiamichi Mountain Christian Missions is preaching each evening and there will be a time of praise and worship.

Billy Bob Cox is song leader for the services with Elaine Simpson playing the piano.

Rockdale Christian Church is located on the corner of Sager and Rock-dale Road in northwestern Rockdale.

First Presbyterian sets car show for Saturday

First Presbyterian Church has scheduled its second annual Classic Car Show and Fall Festival from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Awards will be announced at 1 p.m. There will be “goodie bags” for pre-registered cars and there is a $20 entry fee per vehicle registration: www.fpcrockdale.com.
